712th Post: Reclassification of Story 7 Special as Story 8

This special of Yononaka no Okugi (story 7) I had been publishing since the beginning of the year was originally intended as a one-part long special talking about the background of how the post-evolution world of my stories works from a viewpoint that does not fit with the main story. It intertwines with other stories like Alternate Dimension (story 2), but yet have unique stories that are not just alternate viewpoints of the same thing. Keep in mind that I was travelling around Keihanshin, Hiroshima, and Sapporo around that time, so my piorites were to to focus on the travelling. I did manage to write a lot of it, but I need to edit it before publishing it. In the process, entire sentences were rearranged and redone. Because I had written so much, I had to divide it up to have something published to my blog. Even at the time of writing, there's still more of I hadn't published yet. I tried to write a new Part 6 for Yononaka no Okugi , but what I had written turned out more...

Alternate Dimension Special: Secret Documentary of Mizuho Academy by Hatsuya Institute: History & Uniform

How did Mizuho Girls academy came to what it is today? A well known school, but yet most people don't really know how it works under the hood. It started many years ago, which is to say some years before where the academy is today was built, when the founder of Mizuho High School approached us, and we discussed plans on how to implement it. Mizuho Girls Academy was founded around the early or mid 20th century as a co-ed high school, where boys and girls attend together. Right until around the time Mamiko Hisakawa (one of our staff on assignment there) enrolled to that school, the design of the uniform was was virtually unchanged since the school was founded. But we will talk about why the uniform was changed later. Why the backward conversion from a co-educational school to a girl's school? The founder of the school has this fetish of seeing girls, and yet wants his school to become as big like a built up city with technology that would make everyone...

Alternate Dimension special: Riding the Train With Kids (Part 2)

We finally arrived at the station in the capital. The tickets for the kids were enough to cover the whole trip , but not for mine. I alerted the kids about this before we head to the ticket barrier. Me: "Hold on there! Remember that I bought a ticket that isn't enough for the trip? Watch what happens when I try to use the ticket, and don't enter through the ticket barrier before me or I can't show you something in this paid area." I inserted the ticket into the barrier where it closed on me as it makes beeping sounds that were different from the people who managed to go through. There was also a red light, but I'm not sure if the kids could see that. The staff who was at the window between the gates was looking at me. Me: "And that is what happens. If you were to look over there, there is a machine similar to where we bought our tickets from, but it is for paying off the difference between what I paid and what I am supposed to be paying. Remember ...

Alternate Dimension special: Riding the Train With Kids (Part 1)

This happened between the birth of Kotomi's second and third child, so this pre-dates the day when everyone was turned into a young woman . Kotomi had asked me to take care of them for her as if they were mine, but she also told me to make sure that the children would still see her as their mother instead of me. Officially, this was to free up Kotomi's time for work, but I have a feeling that she does not want to take care of them. Why does she want children if she does not want to take care of them? I think she did say something of having someone to succeed her, but because she is a female, the children has to come from her body, a painful process she does not want to go through again. At infant stages, children are the most annoying things to take care of, but Kotomi's children are oddly well behaved and not annoy their parents. They had always been that way since they were born. So much so that doctors thought they were stillborn during their birth. I wonder if Kotomi...

Disorientated Feelings special: College Graduation Trip

My friends and I have planned a trip to head to New York via car as part of the graduation trip. My university is located about 40 km south east from San Fransisco, but New York city, which is on the other side of America, is 5000 km away from here. I'm leaving behind things that I don't need with a friend, so I had to fly back to California to pick them up before heading back to Japan. It's hard to book flights due to the unpredictability of the trip that could exceed the original plan by as much as a week or more. I could get a standby ticket if I want to get to the earliest available flight at that time, but only if there are still seats available at the time the regular check-in closes, which, considering that the international airports of California and Japan are major stopover airports, that's not guaranteed. For this trip, we would be traveling in two cars. Whose car? Well, from someone who is joining the trip who lives closer to New York than California: one o...

594th post - Windows 8 Consumer Preview

Image
Got my hands on the Windows 8 consumer preview. Download time is smoother than expected. Besides opening the Weather app and installing the two apps at the bottom right, this is what you see right after installing. Background colour could be changed from the green seen in the consumer preview. Like before, you can create an account with a Windows Live account. If you have an Xbox or Hotmail account, you can use that to sign in. App All most of the apps you see in the Developer Preview are mostly gone, but it does make up with being able to use the app store that was unavalable in the Developer Preview. Of course, the screenshots you see here are for the Japanese version, so it may be different from what you see here. Animation, and simentanously viewing weather of other cities, seems to be missing here compared to the Developer preview. It looks weird with that blank area at the far right. My only real complaint here is the units the tempreatures a...

Alternate Dimension: The Other Saeko

Image
[ Author's note: In reference to the Saeko mentioned before Part 35 , but takes place just a few years after Part 52 , the latest part I had written at the time of writing.] After we look through some paperwork behind the apartment we are buying at inside the unit in question, I signed the paper that has the names Haneda Keiichi and Haneda Saeko on it. Yes, I am married, with my maiden name being Hisakawa. We took the same train and the same carriage between Kamisugi and Inami (with Katsura in between) since middle school, but never really talked to each other. I have this feeling that he spotted me more often than me spotting me, as though he had predicted that I would take a particular train at a particular time just to look at me. He was so shy that I didn't notice him until my graduation from Mihara Academy as a student where he confessed to me. In fact, he was on the train that had killed Miyazawa Kotomi and spotted (a clone of) me crying a lot and the only one closest ...

2009 Anime Review

Image
( cross-posted from the anime blog) This includes Autumn 2008 anime that has episodes aired in 2009. However, it does not include 2009 anime that are still airing currently. Anime with images are the ones I would wish to highlight the most. The rest are anime that were also aired and may have my comments on them. Some anime (mostly targeted at kids), OAV, and movies are not listed here. Toradora (Autumn 2008, 25 episodes) Though the chracter designs were somewhat erm different from anime I've watched prior to this, I really looked forward to this anime. From Yuuji's sacry face, to Aisaka reducing from fierce to rather shy. To Aru Majutsu no Index (Autumn 2008, 24 episodes) Well, it's great, but the long draggy scenes in the first few episodes made me drop this once. I mean, 75% of those episodes at the same spot talking about the same thing. Did picked it up later on and its spinoff (Railgun) though. Related anime: To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (Autumn 2009) Shugo Chara!! ...
